Open up the camera on the web browser (Internet Explorer), log in using your username and password, then go to Setup > Camera > Conditions and set the Flip to 90 degrees. Flip the camera via the built-in software. And make sure that the image looks ok normally from the normal mount position (as seen in the picture below). So, in this step, mount the camera and position it right (forget about the corridor mode, position it as a regular CCTV camera). Make note of the IR sensor, it needs to be in an upper position and straight. In our case, we are using an eyeball-style camera, but the idea is the same if you have a bullet or dome-style camera. Set your camera in the proper display position. While the interface may be different, the corridor mode logic is the same across all the CCTV cameras. The procedure can be applied to any camera model (not just Dahua). In this article, we will explain how to set such mode for Dahua IP cameras. ![]() The technicians call this method “corridor mode” or “hallway mode”. ![]() This way you’ll capture a better (and longer) view of the hallway (not just useless walls). If you install an IP camera in a hallway and the walls (left and right) cover too much of the screen, then it’s a good idea to set the camera on corridor mode. Setting up an IP camera in corridor mode allows for the camera’s wide lens size to be seen vertically instead of horizontally.
